
Leona Louise (born on April 3, 1986) is an American musician, singer, songwriter and actress. Born and raised within the London Borough Of Islington she attended the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology, Croydon. Lewis achieved national recognition when she won the third season of The X Factor in 2006 and was awarded an PS1 million recording contract for Syco Music. The single she won and was a cover the song of Kelly Clarkson "A Moment Like This" was downloaded 50,000 times in 30 minutes and peaked at the top spot for the duration of four weeks. Clive Davis's label J Records, signed Lewis to a contract for five albums in February 2007. Lewis's successes continued when she debuted her first album Spirit (2007). The album received platinum certification in the UK as the fourth highest-seller album in the 2000s. According to the Official Charts Company, Spirit is the most-sold debut album of an artist of female origin to date in the 21st century. The album's first single "Bleeding Love" and remained for seven weeks at in the Top 10 of UK charts, was the top-selling single of the year 2007. The track was also the top-selling track in the US that year. Lewis won the Billboard Best New Artist Award next year. Echo was her second studio album. She also wrote the track "I Have You in My Eyes" for Avatar. Lewis also released "Collide" in the year 2011 as a collaborative effort along with Swedish DJ Avicii. In addition, she dropped Hurt The EP in 2011, her debut extended play. Glassheart (2012) marked Lewis' the third album of her studio. It's an innovative new style. Lewis draws inspiration from electronic and dubstep music. During her Glassheart Tour in 2013, she began recording material for her debut Christmas album. Later that year, Christmas with Love was released, and included the lead single "One more time" it reached the top three spot within the UK. Through this chart entry, Lewis made history as the only British female solo artist in the top five with eight singles. This was more than Olivia Newton John's record of seven.
